New gemstone rings, setting in progress

New rings in progress

I’ve been working on 3 new gemstone rings recently and thought I’d show you pictures of them in progress. I set the stones in all three over the past few days and here they are, in progress at the bench.

Labradorite and textured silver ring

First up is a gorgeous hexagon cut Labradorite, full of blue flash, this stone at its best! Set in a sleek bezel on to a textured ring band that is tapered towards to back for comfort.

Sapphire and textured silver ring

Next up is another hexagon shaped stone, this time a beautiful silvery grey-blue Sapphire. These stones with their hexagon shapes are a little more challenging than rounded stones generally, but it’s quite satisfying when it’s done!

The “Warrior Princess” ring

I loved working on this ring! A large-ish chunk of beautiful deep teal blue Kyanite teamed up with a little rich cognac brown diamond on an open asymmetric ring band. You can’t quite see it in its full glory here, as it’s partly covered up by the setting thermoplastic that helps stabilise it all while I set the stones. All will be revealed when the photos of the finished rings are uploaded in the shop here. This ring is a little bit bad ass, as they say (!) and I just think it’s fit for a Warrior Princess!

I hope to photograph them soon so they can be listed on here for sale under the Rugged collection. Keep an eye out for that! If you don’t’ want to miss out you can subscribe to my newsletter below. My valued subscribers usually get first dibs and first view of new one off pieces, so it’s well worth being on the list!
