10 rings in 10 weeks
My “10 rings in 10 weeks“ project is my way of getting back the creativity and fun of making after a tough year when a lot of designers and makers felt themselves in a creative slump.
I’m going to make one ring a week that will be launched every Friday on social media and to my newsletter subscribers (I like to treat them special so they will get to see them a little earlier!). I hope to use ideas that have been brewing in my head for a while but never got made into reality, and I also hope to pick up some new skills in the process. And it goes without saying, they will all have amazing gems in them!
Ring 2, fit for a princess!
So without further ado, I present to you Ring number 2! It centers around an organic rustic and down to earth beach stone that I have shaped a little to make it suitable to set. I’ve combined with with a vibrant London blue Topaz for some great contrast and the shank is what I call a “warrior princess” ring style. I love this big statement kick-ass style and this is the second I’ve made. I wanted to prove that I could make another like it and use a different combo of stones. I like the way it’s turned out. It’s rugged, rustic and big and bold, perfect for a modern warrior princess!
The textured shank is an asymmetric style and it’s also open at the front, to allow for some adjustment. Despite the size of the ring it’s very comfortable and very wearable. I’ve tapered the band at the back so that it can be worn on a daily basis.
The ring is ready to ship in a UK size R 1/2 and can be altered up to a few sizes larger if needed.
