10 rings in 10 weeks
As part of my plans for this quarter I launched a new exciting project recently, called “10 rings in 10 weeks“. The project is going to allow me to play and encourage my creativity as well as give me a chance to learn some new skills and work on projects that I’ve been wanting to for a long time, but not got around to. Follow my journey and see the first ring!
I will launch a new ring every Friday; in my newsletter and on social media. My loyal subscribers will always get a little early access, so if you’d like to be one of the first to see each ring, sign up to my newsletter, sign-up form below.
All the rings will be for sale on my website and will come in a special gift box to treat yourself or someone you care for.
Enough chatting, let’s see the ring!
Ring 1: Tourmaline statement ring
I’m so pleased how this ring turned out! I’ve had the fantastic blue-green tourmaline stone for a few months and when I first came up with this project I immediately thought of this stone. In a way this gem doesn’t need anything else, but I wanted to add something more to it to give it some statement status.
I etched some silver with a pattern I made from the outlines of the striations and patterns found on a slate slab, probably a few years ago now. It’s been sitting around waiting for the perfect moment to be used and this seemed to be it! I made a thick silver ring top component in a matching shape to the beautiful tourmaline and mounted them both on an open front ring band with rustic textured. The dark patina brings out the patterns of the etched silver and the textured band. This is a true one of a kind, as will all the rings be in this project. I even have ideas for a potential collection based on this etched pattern, so watch this space!
The ring is ready to ship in a UK size Q and can be altered up to a few sizes larger if needed.
