This funky pendant got it’s name after my photographer said “I like this one, it looks like a paperclip” when shooting the collection on Polzeath beach. It just came out and I think he was slightly worried he had offended me but I just laughed and couldn’t do much else than agree; it does look like a paperclip! I wanted to make a loop shaped pendant to layer with other pendants in the collection but thought just a continuous shape was too perfect and a bit boring, so decided to play with it and this is what it resulted in. Like all the silver in this collection, it features the trademark rugged texture, inspired by the rocks along the coastline here in north Cornwall. It’s achieved by fusing silver dust and small pieces of silver scraps to a base and adding a few rugged stamp marks to create the depth, giving it a raw and rustic feel.
The silver has a black patina that has been brushed back and polished on the high spots, all to add extra depth and sutble sparkle to this stunning little pendant. Although I can make this pendant over and over again, it will never really be exactly the same as the shape and the texture will be different every time, so it’s almost like a one off piece. A one off paperclip!
The pendant is hung on a 18″ long snake chain, but you can also request a different length, or type of chain, if you prefer.
It was made using sterling silver and measures approximately 47mm in length, including the bail, and 13mm in width at its widest point.
Hallmarked with my makers mark at Birmingham Assay Office, according to UK regulations.
