Another Labradorite wonder! One of my absolute favourite stones. This gorgeous specimen is finely faceted and the freeform shape displays beautiful labradorescence which is what those lovely blue flashes are called. The beautiful gemstone is here complemented with a textured drop made with recycled sterling silver, with a dark patina to bring out the rustic textures. The silver has been been given a brushed finish and finally a bit of a burnish to shine up the high spots.
The pendant is hung on a 24″ long bright brushed rounded box chain, which is a great contemporary alternative to the more common snake chains.
This is such a versatile necklace, it looks equally great over tunics and dresses as it does on a simple T-shirt and classic jacket.
The pendant itself measures approximately 73 mm in its entirely, from top of bail to bottom of the silver drop. The silver drop is 18 mm at its widest point and the Labradorite measures 15 mm wide in its setting.
The necklace is hallmarked at Birmingham Assay Office, according to UK regulation. It’s stamped with my makers mark along with the standard hallmarks.
